Christian Education

Director of Christian Education: Becky Scarborough

The mission of the Christian Education program of Churchville Presbyterian Church is to promote and provide opportunities for the life-long study of scripture.

While some people may believe that Christian Education is solely a ministry for children, here at Churchville Presbyterian we believe that Christian Education leading to faith development and faith maturity is a life-long process which begins in the nursery and continues through our education ministry for older adults.

We believe that parents are the primary Christian Educators for their children and it is our responsibility as a church to provide the education, support, resources, and fellowship necessary to equip parents and grandparents for this role.  Therefore, we rely on feedback from the adults in designing classes to best meet their needs.  At the same time, we strive to provide a vibrant, fun, and solid Christian Education program for the children and teens.

Nursery through Adult Church School classes are offered on Sundays from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.  Babies and toddlers have Bible stories read to them in the Nursery, and the toddlers create crafts which are displayed in the Fellowship Hall of the church.  Children in the Pre-K and Kindergarten class learn Bible stories, create crafts related to the stories, and even have their own choir, the Cherub Choir, which sings on a monthly basis at the traditional worship service.

Workshops are held regularly in Arts & Crafts, Bible Skills and Games, and Video or Drama.
