Bible Study

Presbyterian Women: Joyce Carter or Jen Labe

Sarah Circle

The Sarah Circle meets on the second Tuesday evening of each month at 7:00pm in the Church Lounge.  We are currently studying the book of Proverbs.

Our next study is a Fisherman's Study Guide called Wisdom That Works -- Proverbs.

For centuries, kings have been intrigued by wisdom, particularly the wisdom of "the gods".  Knowledge meant power.  One who was wise was considered to be closer to divine beings than were other mortals.  Solomon wrote substantial portions of this Wisdom book.  He also gathered and recorded wise sayings of other kings priests, and scholars.  The study guide method in getting to the heart of the book of Proverbs is to look for verses that explicitly addresses the same topics and even use the same phrases and words.  By doing this, we gain an understanding of the nuggets of wisdom in Proverbs.  The key is to apply these words to our daily lives, so we understand just how practical and life enhancing they can be.

We have engaging conversation while working through the study chapters together--no "homework" required!  All are welcome.

Phoebe Circle

The Phoebe Circle meets on the third Wednesday morning of each month at 10:00am.  We are currently using the Presbyterian Women's Bible study material called "Celebrating Sabbath, Accepting God's Gift of Rest and Delight" by Carol M. Bechtel.

Marilyn Rudolph leads our Bible Study.  We have a rotation of ladies that bring refreshments to share with all who attend.  We have two hours of fellowship, good food and wonderful discussions on our Lessons in Bible Study.

Please join us!  All are welcome.
